How do you spell that

Are you a Blegg and live in Australia? If you are then we are almost certainly related

my great grandfather on his convict record was Blagg but his children were recorded as Blagg, Blag, Blegg, Bleg, Blay, and one was known as Black. Now me I was a Blegg because that’s the spelling they all used in the end , but I have also been called all types of names similar to Blegg including Plug. I thought that was the most far out one!

I found John Blagg/Blegg because I decided to misspell his name and look for a group of births the same as his children, so I looked for Charles, George, Thomas David and Laura as siblings in birth records as I knew about them I found 8 of them with him for a father and Margaret Buckingham as the mother,  but Thomas was not listed he had a separate entry as His father was John Blag and his mother Burke instead of Buckingham.

Well how do you spell that ? When asked that question I always wanted to say THAT ! But how do you spell Blegg well that’s a different question, and it wouldn’t get asked a lot today as the Blegg’s are very few. But in case you are wondering it is BLEGG no it’s not short for any other name it was my surname and I am proud of it.
